Mona Oren graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2002, after studying art at the Thelma Yellin School in Israel.
In 2006, she was UNESCO Artist in Residence at Beaux-Arts of Chiang-Mai University, Thailand. Laureate of the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand - Dialogues - in 2018; in 2019 she was in residence at the Villa Medicis.
In 2020 she is launching the Wax Tulip Mania project, inviting the collection of wax tulips as so many fragments of a vast virtual field; a conceptual work that takes on its full dimension online.
With wax, a favorite material that the artist describes as 'intimate and lively', she creates three-dimensional works that are put into situation: spatialization, transcription, photographic series or video.
In 2021, a solo exhibition entitled 'Sculpter le temps' will be dedicated to her at the Fondation Écureuil pour d'Art Contemporain in Toulouse, supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.
