Following the international success of “Cypherdudes”, his first collection of generative “onchain” art presented at Avant Galerie in February 2024, French artist FelixFelixFelix is back with Cypherpalaces just one year later.
Constructed as an extension of Cypherdudes, Cypherpalaces considerably enrich FelixFelixFelix's work by offering a 3-dimensional version of his universe as well as new interactive features for collectors.
Visually, Cypherpalaces take the form of a 3-D cube representing the inside of the famous Cypherdudes square head. In this immersive space, which takes up the aesthetic codes of the original collection, the artist has developed a digital and contemporary version of the ancient concept of physical memory palaces.
Each cubic palace is composed of a sequence of 24 rooms in which visitors can wander freely. At the center of each room is a mysterious tablet on which only the collector can inscribe a symbol of his or her choice.
Like the memory palaces used by our ancestors to memorize information, these tablets, associated with these rooms, constitute a mnemonic device that only their owner has the secret to.
With this new work, the artist continues to explore his favorite theme: the protection of freedom and privacy in digital space, this time by combining the concepts of digital memory and organic memory, thus making the link between the ancient memory palaces and the public places for storing digital data that are blockchains.cypherdudes web site: cypherdudes.com
